SID at the boat show
SID have a stand at the boat show this year so we need volunteers to (wo)man it! The show run from Wednesday 23rd to the 27th February. The show is open from 12:00 to 19:00 on Wed and Thurs, from 12:00 to 21:00 on Friday and 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free for volunteers, who just need to answer queries about the club and distribute handouts. Please contact Joan 0862487167 if you can spare some time to help out during 5 days!
SID celebrates 21 years!
Yes, SID is in existence for 21 years and in order to celebrate we are having a reunion of all current and past members in the Russell Court Hotel on Friday the 11th March. The format of the night is a table quiz, late bar and finger food followed by free entry to the disco downstairs. The cost of the night is €15 or €50 for table of 4. All proceeds to the RNLI. Membership fees
The membership fee for 2005 is now due. The membership fee for 2005 is €300 with a discount of €25 is paid before the 31 March 2005. ***Special Offer *** SID members will receive a single subsidy of €50 towards the cost of an approved sailing course if taken during 2005. Patrick's Day weekend
Why not join fellow SID members for a great weekend in Glenans over the 4 days of Paddy's weekend Great sailing and great craic to be had for only €230 (Glenans members) or €280 (non members). This is an approved course for the €50 subsidy!. So far Joan Connolly, Cearbhall Daly, Damien Byrne, Niamh Boden, Una Collins, Clare Condon, Petra Woj and Nicola Byrne are going to Collamore.Need 2 more to get group discount! Carina Myles and Ann Coyne are heading to Baltimore on the same weekend. Book before 16th February to be included in option of group discount! Powerboat course
The first of 2 powerboat courses on the 19/20 February is now full but I will take names in case of a cancellation. Please complete the application form and post a cheque to me if you wish to be added in case of a cancellation or wish to attend the second course on 5/6 March. Cost of course is €180 and it is an approved course for the €50 subsidy! First Aid Course
Carina plans to attend a First Aid course on 12th and 13th March in Boylan Centre, Dun Laoghaire. The cost will be €85 to include first aid manual. A first aid course is well worth attending. The course will introduce the students to the basic principles and practices of First Aid. Knowledge that will make you more aware of what you can do to help in any situation requiring First Aid. Frostbites
Congratulations to the SID frostbiters who came 7 out of 18 boats in the first series which finished before Christmas. A second SID boat is entered in the second series. Contact Cearbhall for more info.
